When she was 18, Ayanna Davis had trouble seeing and went to a physician. The doctor told her there was nothing wrong with her eyes and she must be illiterate. Her mom knew that wasn’t true so she took Ayanna to an optometrist, Dr. Jay Messinger, who diagnosed her with keratoconus and saved her vision.
Ayanna understands the vital role optometrists play in delivering primary eye care and is committed to supporting our profession in the Legislature.
We need as many optometrists there as possible!!
