Dear SBOS Members
There is still activity on Capitol Hill regarding Health Care Reform on the National Level. It is important for us to remain strong and active in organized optometry. I want to personally thank all of you for your continued support and membership with the AOA/COA/SBOS. Your membership is needed now more than ever! Please don’t hesitate to ask another optometrist to join our society, or invite them to one of our dinner meetings.
We are planning to have an awards night for the doctors that have reached their 10, 25, 40, and 50 years of being a member. Hopefully, the awards will be ready for the March 18th dinner meeting. We look forward to honoring these special doctors for their many years of continued membership.
Gene Chang will be moving into the President position at the May meeting. We will again be looking for a President Elect. All of the doctors that are currently with Project Keep should consider becoming President Elect. Please come to our next board meeting on April 22nd at Jerry’s Deli in Torrance at 7:15 pm.
We have a great lecture coming up in March with Ron Gallemore, MD. His two associates will be there as well. If you have not met Drs. Hans Kim and Mehran (Ron) Taban, this would be a great opportunity. The topic will be “What’s New in Retina”.
In May, Dr. Douglas Sakamoto will be speaking on a Glaucoma topic.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming meetings.
Deborah L. Geering-Fend, OD
